Right use of lighting can make your home look like a million bucks…

Good use of lighting brings to life the most ordinary design schemes. Put it together with a great interior and it works like magic. Picking a right light fitting is just one element of the job...where you place it, how it operates and the effect it has on its surrounding area is twice as important.

While good use of artificial light does ensure that your home looks like million bucks, same interior in the daytime without any artificial light can speak very differently depending on the natural light it gets.  Optimizing the use of natural light is also important, both in terms of practicality and in order to be able to deliver a spectacular design and enhance the space. Appropriate lighting can also accentuate the color scheme, layout, embellishments etc and create captivating ambience. This means that light is functional as well as decorative and must be used creatively in home designing. Objective should be to offer a home design which makes a style statement with not just artificial light but also in natural light.

Even in case of re-decoration, if you don’t want to spend a whole lot, you could consider just revamping the lighting design in your home. A little recess here, a little downlight there, and you’ll be surprised at the results. A boring home is transformed into a designer one with just a flick of a switch.

Depending on the look you want to create or the mood you want to set in the room, plan the recess lights, accent lights, back lights, table lamps or even wall lights. The way light is used in decorating and enhancing your home can truly deliver transformation as an end result.  After all lighting is not known as a home designer’s secret for nothing...
